The Secret Drawer opened its doors in 1998 born from one man’s dream to create functional yet stylish handmade furniture. Richard Mason has a lifelong passion for furniture design and craftsmanship – which has seen him receive recognition many times over including an Award of Excellence in the Skill Olympics where he competed against the very best cabinetmakers from all over the world. |
Richard started The Secret Drawer from his workshop premises in Skipton, North Yorkshire and it soon grew to include The Secret Drawer kitchen, bedroom and bathroom showroom in nearby Cononley.
In 2006 the Secret Drawer took over a Farrow & Ball paint showroom in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. After adding a kitchen display and extensive range of wallpaper and fabric books, and

accessories and gifts, our interior design team are able to deliver complete turnkey projects for the whole house.
Nowadays, Richard still remains creatively ‘hands-on’ at The Secret Drawer, designing furniture at the hub of the company. Richard is now supported by a 16-strong team all continuing the passion and dedication to their work for clients based throughout the UK and Europe.
